Crashes, upheavals, and crises! I have always been fascinated by forces in motion, whether natural or all too human, and sought to capture moments of intense drama. These forces are physical, emotional, and symbolic. I like to make art that asks “What will happen next?” or “What is happening here?” I want the viewer to feel some of what I see and feel all the time.

    Art has the power to tell the truth in unique symbolic ways. I believe that artists should not surrender their roles as seers and messengers to others who communicate the “news.” How does each of us react when witnessing extreme events? As bystanders do we sit passively by or do we take actions that affirm our basic human rights? Artists can change both minds and hearts. I am in favor of any art that helps us to save us from ourselves.
